I see lots of things

I see things.

I’ve seen children of means doing demeaning things.
And sons of poverty who spread their wings.

I’ve seen grown men beg for life,
And children throw it away to avoid a little strife.

I’ve seen grandiose homes with filth and grime,
And homeless camps that pristinely shine.

I have seen some men tell the truth.
I’ve seen more lie despite the proof.

I’ve seen sorrow and courage,
Calm and rage.

I’ve seen precious little contentment and plenty of resentment.

I’ve heard women scream as I stand at their door,
Because I’ve come to tell them they aren’t mothers anymore.

I’ve seen bad men get their due,
And self righteous ones who have no clue.

I’ve seen lots of things as a police man.
Some things others never can.

Show No Weakness

Hold it in, don’t let them see.
Nothing can be wrong with me.
I’m perfect, happy, everything is fine.
Everything I want is mine.

Help is something I do not need,
Help is for a weaker breed.
No one must ever be allowed to see,
What hides deep inside of me.

No one can see the fear,
Or know when I shed a tear,
I am perfect, I am fine.
As a man I will always decline.

Help you offer because it’s not needed,
Please don’t find me conceited.
Leave me one little speck of pride,
And by this one rule, please abide.

The way I feel I’m supposed to act.

Fake World

All around me I see glitter,
And people who smile and titter.
But I’m not sure what to make,
Of these people so blatantly fake.

I’m sick of this facade.
It’s nothing more than a charade.
I see the sweet life on Instagram,
And know its nothing but a sham.

All I can think when I look at Pinterest,
Is of lonely people trying to gain the interest,
Of others and thus their approval.
They some how think this will result in the removal,

Of the loneliness they feel.
On this same subject I have to ask what is the deal,
Regarding the value they put in a Facebook friend,
Of which they have thousands who are like chaff before the wind?

Not one of these ‘friends’ is really known,
And these people are still alone.
It is merely an illusion,
They create to hide the seclusion,

Which they retreat further into everyday.
This can be seen by the way,
They are too lazy to stand face to face,
With people and have the normal interactions that are the base,

Of genuine friendship and of being sincere.
Instead they let simple fear,
That they will have to face communal rejection,
Poison the way they see their own reflection.
